It's almost time for one of my favorite comics shows, the Small Press Expo!!

Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th, you can find me and the Comics Bakery at the Marriott Bethesda North Conference Center, in lovely Bethesda, Maryland. We'll be stationed at Table G15-16, which happens to be right by the ballroom entrance. Same spot we had last year!


I'm thrilled to be debuting the fourth and final BSC graphic novel, Claudia and Mean Janine. In fact, it's even up for a "Best Debut" Ignatz Award! How about that!


I've also created a brand-new minicomic called Outreach for the show. It's been like 3 years since I made a minicomic, but I had some free time last week and got a full 12-page mini done! It's a snapshot of some of the things I've seen and heard while teaching kids about comics, and things people say during comic cons. They're $1 each, and I'm afraid I won't be selling them online or by mail for the time being...so if you want one, you'll have to find me at SPX or another show in the future!

I've got other stuff, too! I put together a few packs of hand-made Christmas cards; I have the full back catalog of BSC graphic novels, all of the Take-Outs, my SMILE minicomic, lots of original artwork, and t-shirts!

I will be on one panel: Children's and YA Comic Books, on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM. I'll be joined by my husband, Dave Roman, as well as my good friends Hope Larson and Frank Cammuso!
